Venice Dontis, 85, of Lititz, PA passed away Monday, July 18, 2016 at Moravian Manor. Born in Lancaster she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Dontis. Venice worked as a bookkeeper for W.H. Johns Trucking Company and also worked at her parent's business the former Kandy Korner Luncheonette on Duke Street in Lancaster. She was the first generation to be born in the United States and was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church where she was active with the Church Bazaar, Choir member for 60 years, member of the Parish Council for many years having served on the Outreach Committee as well as a lifelong member of the Philoptochos Society having served as Treasurer for 20 years. Venice is survived by her friend of 33 years Phyllis Wells and her fiancé Harry Bowie of Easton, MD; one godson Phillip Pavlatos of Las Vegas, NV. She was the last of her immediate family. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 22, 2016 at 10:30AM from Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 64 Hershey Ave. Lancaster, PA 17603 with Fr. Hector Firoglanis and Fr. Alexander Veronis officiating. Interment will follow in Lancaster Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10AM until the time of her funeral service at the Church.
