VamSiab was born on June 15, 1957, in Mojsab, Xiengkhouang, Laos. He was the fifth child of eleven children of Zam Xiong Moua and Bao Yang. Grew up in Laos, VaimSiab had the opportunity to get an education and completed high school. VamSiab was married to Bao Yang in 1976 in Laos. Together, they had seven children. In 1975, VamSiab's brothers and sisters left Laos and he stayed behind. In 1983, Vamsiab and his family came to Thailand. Vamsiab and his family lived there for three years and then immigrated to the United States in 1986. While living in Philadelphia, VamSiab was working at LeBus as a baker. VamSiab was very dedicated and passionate about pastry. As a matter of fact, in 1996, LeBus was named one of the best bakeries in Philadelphia.

In 2000, VamSiab and his family moved to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and worked at Shady Maple in bakery. In VamSiab's spared time, he loved to hunt and took care of the few chickens he had in the backyard. Unfortunately, in May 2015, VamSiab was diagnosed with lung cancer. He fought hard, battling the disease with aggressive treatments. Vamsiab's life was ended prematurely before his time on December 21, 2019, at 5am.

Sadly, Vamsiab left behind his wife, Bao Yang, seven children and five grandchildren. His children are: Ong, Ia, Lostswj, Cua, Pajhuab, Pajyeeb thiab Loskav. He also left behind seven siblings: Niam Nyiaj Xwm, Niam Num Yig, Suav Nplooj, Npuag Looj, Txhawj Has, Niam Txooj Suav thiab Txhiaj Kaus.

Family and friends are invited to attend viewing and services at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 6-9PM and Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 9AM. Burial will be at Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery.
