Obituary

Del was a woman of God one who loved life itself, she was kind considerate and caring one who would literally give you the shirt of her back, one who showed empathy and love for family but always welcoming. Del as she was affectionately called back in the Bahamas, she was fearless. She loved baking from scratch and preparing meals, she also loved the outdoors as well as gardening. Del had a green thumb she would often send you photos of her fruits and vegetables. She believed that God and family are first and above all things.

She was always kind and considerate. She would literally give you the shirt of her back and shoes off her feet. Many times, her sister Sheryl would visit and she would say that she liked something that Valerie was wearing. When Valerie took it off, she would hand it to Sheryl. She would often send stuff over to her mum, children and grandkids back home in the Bahamas. Valerie's friends often called her Dela.

Valerie went into hospital and was holding on to FAITH and GOD'S, word that she would come out of the hospital. She meant her soulmate the love of her life George Russell 4th they then united in holy matrimony. They were happy together.

Time to rest

"The best solution is to rest, relax and recharge, its hard to be your best on empty "Valerie would Praise God every day even though she was unable to attend church. George and Valerie watched church service on television. Even when her speech was not the best. She tried as best as she could to make you understand. Valerie had a vivid imagination. She prided herself in being a great wife, daughter, mother, grand and great grandmother. Her last trip to the Bahamas she went on a leisure drive. She was able to watch a Junkanoo practice.
