Obituary

Tomaso Nang Van Nguyen, 87, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018. Born in Bac Giang, Vietnam, he was the husband of Trong Thi Nguyen and the son of the late Ton Van and Sai Thi Nguyen. Tomaso had been a policeman for the Republic of South Vietnam, and was imprisoned for many years after the fall of the south during the Vietnam War. He came to the United States in 1993. He loved gardening and his Christian faith was of great importance to him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 3 daughters: Trinh Thi Nguyen wife of the late Long Ngoc Huynh of Lancaster, Nhuong Thi Nguyen married to Ken Vuong of Lancaster, Chu Thi Nguyen married to Son Duong of Philadelphia; his 3 sons: Phan Van Nguyen married to Hoa Thi Nguyen of Lancaster, Chieu Van Nguyen of Lancaster, and Khac Van Nguyen married to Huong Yen Tran of Mountville; his 5 grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters, and his 2 brothers and a sister in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his son, Lien Van Nguyen who died in 1974. Friends will be received at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 East King St., Lancaster, PA on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 from 7-9PM and again on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 7-9PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 9:30AM at the Monastery of the Dominican Sisters of The Perpetual Rosary, 1834 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
