Thomas "Tom" Vulgaris, 86, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2024. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late John and Helen (Rose) Vulgaris. He was married to the late Barbara M. Vulgaris for 47 years prior to her passing in 2011.
Tom was a dedicated electrician for many years and was a proud member of IBEW 28 (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers). He and his wife Barbara also owned and operated a small automotive painting business in McKeesport, PA for 10 years. Tom enjoyed bowling and won 2 tournaments, he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan as well as the Baltimore Orioles, and he liked doing crossword puzzles. Tom also grew up with his father owning a restaurant in Baltimore, so he was able to learn and define his cooking skills – a true passion of his.
Tom is survived by his 3 children: Thomas F. Vulgaris (Tamera), Caroline Kempfe (Martin), and Christine Brehm (Matthew); and 4 grandchildren: Thomas and Taylor Vulgaris, and Eleni and Jacob Brehm. He was predeceased by his 4 brothers: Lawrence, Richard, Theodore, and John "Jack" Vulgaris.
The family will receive guests from 1-2 PM on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. A service will be held at 2 PM. Interment will immediately follow at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions in Tom's memory to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601.
