IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas
Sullivan
October 7, 2024
Thomas Sullivan, 82, passed peacefully on the evening of October 7, 2024 at Lancaster General Hospital.
Tom was born in Bronx, NY to the late John and Margaret Sullivan. Tom was a veteran who proudly served with the US Army. He was stationed outside Stuttghart, Germany where he met and married his wife Liese. Upon returning to the US, he worked as a Foreman for the Manhattan and Bronx Transit Authority and for many years was a volunteer fireman for the Holbrook Fire Department on Long Island, NY.
Anyone who knew Tom knows how deeply he cared for animals. He volunteered at the local animal shelter and enjoyed feeding the ducks at the park as well as filling the bird houses with food in the backyard. Tom cherished his family and honored those he loved with tattoos on his arms: the names of his 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren as well as pictures of his beloved dogs: Tasha, Remington, and Jackson. He was an avid reader, cinema enthusiast and active bowler. One of the greatest highlights of his life was bowling a 300.
Tom is survived by his wife – Liese Sullivan; his daughters – Corinna Walsh and Kim Romney; and his grandchildren – Kyle Fairhurst, Cara Fairhurst, Sean Walsh, and Christian Romney; as well has his other family and friends.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents; his brother – John Sullivan; his sister – Maryann Bracciodieta; and his nephew – David Sullivan.
Family and friends will be received from 6PM-8PM on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at the Funeral Home with family and friends being received from 10AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org or the Humane League of Lancaster, https://humanepa.org.
You are deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
