Thomas Mimidis, 90, of Lancaster passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012 at Masonic Village surrounded by his family and extended Masonic family. Born in Monessen, PA, he was the son of the late George and Harriett (August) Mimidis. Thomas was the husband of Constance "Connie" (Diamantoni) Mimidis with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Tom was a supervisor and superintendent for the Color Picture Tube Division of RCA and retired after 35 years of service. A WWII veteran, he served in the US Army Air Corps. Tom was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. He was a member of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association Red Rose Chapter #71 (AHEPA) and of the Lamberton Lodge #476 of the Free and Accepted Masons.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Connie, are three children: George T. Mimidis, husband of Noy of Baltimore, MD, Paul T. Mimidis, husband of Cassandra of Lititz and Lynn Mimidis of Lancaster. Tom was a proud grandfather of six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Mimidis.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 64 Hershey Ave., Lancaster, PA 17603 with Rev. Hector Firoglanis and Rev. Alexander Veronis officiating. A viewing will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012 from 6-9 PM at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 with a Trisagion Service at 7:30 PM. Additional viewing will be from 9:30-10:30 AM at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be at Conestoga Memorial Park with Military Honors rendered by the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Philoptochos Society or the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church; Masonic Village, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 or to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
