Thomas H. Malloy, 87 of Lancaster, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, October 27, 2018. He was the loving husband and father of four children.
Thomas was born in Clearfield, PA to the late Paul and Helen Malloy. He graduated from St. Francis High School, then received his Bachelor's Degree from Gannon University in Erie, PA in 1954. He married Mary Ehrman on July 24, and lived in Hawaii for two years while serving as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army. The couple celebrated 64 years of marriage last July. Tom worked at Raub Supply Company as an accountant and in the computer programming department. After retirement he worked in the garden department of Stauffers of Kissel Hill.
Tom was an original member of St. Philip the Apostle Parish where he volunteered in the parish office. Tom was treasurer of Guys and Dolls and enjoyed traveling with his friends. You could often find him gardening, reading, and attending grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his sister, Lucille, and his brother, J. Paul. He is survived by his wife, Mary; his four children: daughter Maureen, wife of James Graver, son Tom, husband of Cathy Gainer, daughter Mary Pat, wife of Thomas Koller, and son Mark, husband of Sandi Hoover; by sixteen grandchildren: Veronica, Laura, David, Andrew, Patrick, Amy, Lauren, Thomas, Sarah, Alecia, Andrew, Katelyn, Matthew, Erin, Molly, and Maura; twenty-one great-grandchildren: Gabrielle, Alex, Joseph, Gavin, Maximillian, Samuel, Judah, Margaret, Zelie, Dorothea, Edith, Helena, Elizabeth, Catherine, Mary-Margaret, Max, Zachary, Mark, Emily, Annemarie, and Daryl; seven nieces and five nephews. His family and faith were the most important parts of his life. Friends and family will be received from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2nd, at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 8:00p.m. . A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3rd, at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 2111 Millersville Pike, Millersville, PA with Reverend Lawrence W. Sherdel officiating. A one hour visitation will be held preceding the Mass from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park will follow with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lancaster Catholic Fine Arts Program, 650 Juliette Ave, Lancaster, PA 17601, The Juvenile Diabetes Association, www2.jdrf.org, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Central PA, Chapter,717 Market St., Suite 108, Lemoyne, PA 17043, Attn: Kelly or to St. Philips the Apostle, address above.
