God whispered Tom's name on Friday, July 9th, 2021. He was the loving husband of Kathryn, (Stief) Adams with whom he shared over 56 years of marriage. Kathy was the love of his life and his very best friend.
Tom was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed his family immensely. He relished his time he spent with his grandchildren Andrea, Seth, Blaine, Brendan and Tucker. He also loved that he got to be a great-grandfather to Sawyer and could be found playing with him any chance he got. Tom was a kind man and could often be found helping one of the neighbors. He could fix or build just about anything and if he could help you, he would. He was a gentle man, but very sharp witted. HIs sense of humor was the best and always had those around him laughing and smiling.
In his early career, he worked at Sensenig Propeller, but spent the majority of his working life as a trucker for McCrory's Stores hauling goods up and down the east coast. He later retired from Southern Container. He was affectionately known by his CB radio handle "8 Ball" to all his fellow truckers sharing the road. Tom loved spending time in the woods hunting or relaxing. Potter County and the Pine Creek Valley were some of his favorites. He loved woodworking, tinkering in his garage and meeting up with his buddies for coffee.
He was born June 10, 1944, to the late Ira and Bernetha Shreiner Adams and was one of eight children. He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia DeVeaux, brothers Donald and Kenny Adams. In addition to his wife, Kathy, he is survived by his brothers, Ronald (Delma) and James (Carolyn) Adams and his sisters, Bonita Connelly and Sandy (Larry) Diffenderfer, his three children, Jeffrey Adams (Kristin Strauss), Christopher Adams and Heather Adams (John Brumbaugh), his 5 grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Family and friends are invited to attend Tom's Memorial Service at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the Charles F Snyder Jr. Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 where visitation will be begin at 10:00 AM.
Tom was an active member of the Brunnerville Fire Company in earlier years. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to them. 1302 Church Street, Lititz, PA 17543.
