Theresa G. (Rooney) Swartz, 83, of Lancaster, passed away, Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Conestoga View Nursing Home. Born in Mahanoy City, PA., she was the daughter of the late James and Genevieve (Unsin) Rooney. Theresa was the wife of the late Frank Swartz who died in 1982.

Theresa was employed by Resurrection Catholic School formerly known as St. Anthony's School as a Teachers Aide for 20 years. She was also a member of St. Anthony's of Padua Catholic Church. She participated in the seniors club at St. Anthony's, Bingo, and St. Philip's Guys and Dolls.

Theresa is survived by 2 sons; Jim Swartz fiancé of Rose Foreman of Lancaster, and John Swartz husband of Dawn (Wiegand) of Brownstown, a daughter; Genevieve Swartz of Lancaster, and 3 grandchildren, Danielle Hoffman wife of Dustin, and Christopher and Kyle Swartz.

She was preceded in death by a son, Frank Swartz Jr., 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 16, 2009 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 501 E. Orange St. 17602 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Mitzel as Celebrant. Family and friends will be received at the church before the service from 10-11 a.m. Interment will be Thursday, November 19, 2009 at St. Anthony's Cemetery at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Lancaster 685 Good Drive, Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
