IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Theodore W.
"Ted" Mccomsey
September 10, 2013
On September 10th, 2013, Ted unexpectedly pitched his final tent at the great campground in the sky. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late William B. and Alta L. Wiest McComsey. He leaves behind a loving legacy which includes his wife of 37 years, Barbara J. Weidman McComsey, and four children: Shannon M. McComsey Bucher and partner Beth Storer, of Lancaster, William B. married to Laura McComsey of California, Kevin S. McComsey of Manheim, and Shawn A. married to Ana McComsey of Mt. Joy. A living font of information and an unending source of knowledge, he considered writing a book called "Ted's Compendium of Little Known and Useless Facts," but was certain that it would not have been a bestseller. A lover of the great outdoors, he greatly enjoyed camping and hiking. During these awesome adventures he was always searching for snakes. Considerable time was spent looking for the slinky creatures, and most times they eluded him, frustrating him to no end. A passel of grandchildren will no longer enjoy time spent with Pappy in the creek. They include Tyler, Cody, Ashlyn, Cassidy, Gage, Kyle, Alexandria, Anjelina, Dylan, and Mia. A US Navy Veteran, he was proud of his time spent in the service. He served aboard the USS Bennington as an Electronics Technician Navigation 3rd class. Never-ending stories were spun regarding the quality of the food. As a member of the VFW Post 5956, he frequently enjoyed Sunday breakfast with his wife, mother-in-law, Arlene Weidman, brother-in-law, Herbert Weidman Jr., and father-in-law, Herbert Weidman. He retired from Lapp Electrical, Inc. in 2012 after over 30 years as an electrician. Despite repeated pleas from his wife and children about the "to do" list of numerous home projects, he accepted a part-time position at GCM, Inc. earlier this year. Friends will be received on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 from 10-11AM at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA, with a Time of Sharing to begin at 11AM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
