Terry Duffy, 67, of Lancaster, PA passed away on March 29, 2016 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Lancaster PA, he was the son of the late Daniel and Florence Duffy. He was the husband of the Late Rebecca Duffy.
Terry served in the Vietnam War as a US Marine, and received two Purple Hearts for being wounded in combat.
Terry was a machinist for Burnham, US Boiler Company for 20 years and before that he was a welder for High Steel. He was a long time gardener, growing fruits, vegetables and flowers of many variety's through-out his years. He enjoyed being outside when the weather was nice, and was most relaxed sitting under a shade tree next to his garden. He enjoyed riding motorcycles for most of his life. His last motorcycle, a big twin Harley Davidson, he put over 100,000 miles on. When he couldn't be outside he enjoyed collecting coins, watching the history channel, and attending to his many houseplants, some that were nearly 50 years old.
He is survived by son Terry Duffy Jr and his wife Amanda Jean, son Daniel Duffy and his wife Amanda Jane, son James Duffy and his companion Shanicka Kraybill, step-daughter Marie Acosta and her husband Julio, daughter Faith Smith and her husband Martin, and step-daughter Megan Jones; 5 grandchildren Brendan Burgey, Reggie Watts, Daniella Rodriquez, Lacey Hatton, and Harley Anne Duffy. Also his companion Vickey Phillips.
He is proceeded in death by his brothers Paul and Donny Ream.
A Committal Service will be held at 12:30 PM on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors. Those who plan to attend, please arrive no later than 11 AM at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 for a Funeral Procession to the cemetery in Terry's Honor. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
