IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sylvia Renee
Deangelo
January 20, 2026
Sylvia Renee DeAngelo, age 63, entered into eternal life with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 20, 2026. Born in Anchorage, Alaska as a military baby, Syl was the daughter of the late Thomas and Marjorie (Snyder) DeAngelo.
Syl earned her Doctorate of Philosophy in Business Administration from Northcentral University and dedicated her career to education as a valued professor at Purdue Global University. She also earned her Master of Arts in Christian Apologetics from Liberty University, one of her greatest personal accomplishments, reflecting both her deep faith and her commitment to thoughtful scholarship. A lifelong learner, she continued to take classes and expand her knowledge even after achieving a multitude of degrees and certificates, exemplifying her belief in the power of education and personal growth.
A faithful follower of Jesus Christ, Syl was an active member of Victory Church at the Lititz Campus. She passionately served her community by participating in mission trips to New York and Los Angeles, where she fed and ministered to those in need. Syl's compassion for the less fortunate reflected her deep commitment to her faith and her unwavering desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
Syl is survived by her loving daughter, Stephanie M.Y. Rokosz (wife of Chaz) of Missouri, her cherished grandson Jameson E. Rokosz of Missouri, her lifelong companion Steven M. Rokosz of Missouri and one sister, Judith L. DeAngelo of Johnstown, PA, as well as several cherished cousins and dear friends who will lovingly carry her memory forward. In addition to her parents, Syl is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Crystal J. Card.
A graveside service will be held to honor Syl's memory on January 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Mount Peace Cemetery in Minersville, Pennsylvania. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of her life and the lasting impact she made on all who knew her.
I am at rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. "strength belongs to God, and faithful love belongs to you, Lord." Psalm 62:1, 11-12
In lieu of flowers, donations in Syl's memory can be made to Side Street Mission.
