Surinder Kaur Kooner, aged 91, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Rose City Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born in India, she was the daughter of the late Chanan Kaur Dulay and Chanan Singh Dulay. She was the loving wife of Gurdev Singh Kooner.

Surinder was a woman of deep faith, and her connection to her spiritual beliefs was a guiding force in her life. A devoted member of Gurudwara Sahib of Lancaster County, she found solace, strength, and community in her religious practices.

Surinder found joy in simple pleasures. She enjoyed cooking and cleaning, finding fulfillment in the daily tasks of maintaining a home. She enjoyed watching her favorite shows that brought her comfort and entertainment. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family, creating lasting memories. Faith was not only practiced locally, but it was also a bridge that connected her to her roots. She found immense joy in visiting family in India, strengthening the bonds that transcended borders.

She is survived by her husband, Gurdev; her daughter Rashpal Bassi (Balbir) of England; her son Kulwinder Kooner (Jasvir Kaur) of Lancaster; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers: Manmohan, Darwara and Rajinder Dulay and her sister Minder Kauer as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Balbir Kooner.

A viewing and prayer service will be held from 10:30AM – 12:00PM on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543.
