Stewart J. Stambaugh, 86, of New Holland, formerly of York, went home to be with the Lord, October 18, 2013. He was born in York, to the late Robert and Amy Wagner Stambaugh. He was predeceased by his three brothers William, Harold and Raymond and many surviving neices and nephews.
He was the loving husband of Gloria Snyder Stambaugh.
Stew was a 1945 graduate of William Penn High School in York, and a Wheaton College, Wheaton, Ill., graduate in l963. Stewart was completely devoted to his family and was deeply involved in their lives throughout his life.
In addition to his wife, Stew will be lovingly remembered by his son, James Doran Stambaugh (Elisabeth) and three grandsons: Doran Bartlett Stambaugh (Therese), Joshua Stewart Stambaugh (Anne), and Caleb James Stambaugh (Rachael) and six great grandchildren with one on the way.
Stew was a member of the Trinity EUB Church where he and Gloria were co youth directors of Youth Fellowship. After leaving Trinity, we wanted you to know it was one of the happiest times in our lives with the youth. The Lord gave us opportunities and amazing people to meet above our expectations, but we will always remember Trinity and our friends.
The Funeral for Stewart Stambaugh will be held at Garden Spot Village Chapel, Garden Spot Village, 433 South Kinzer Avenue, New Holland, PA, 17557 on Thursday, October 24, at 2 pm. There will be a private burial at Mt. Rose Cemetery, York. Please omit flowers.
