Steven E. Riehl, 72, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Beatrice with whom he recently celebrated 44 years of marriage. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Elam S. and Aary Esh Riehl. Steve was a self-employed contractor and the owner of Riehl Painting. Throughout his career he spent many years as a bridge worker and sandblaster, working on many of the most prominent bridges in the mid-Atlantic region. When he wasn't working, he loved spending time in the mountains, listening to country music and enjoying time with his family and friends, particularly his two grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his daughter, Dana R. Neiss and her husband, Chad as well as his two grandsons, Chad II and Hunter, all of Lititz, PA. Steve is survived by his three brothers, Moses husband of the late Lena Riehl, Aaron husband of Norma Riehl, Ephraim husband of the late Linda Riehl; two sisters, Annie wife of the late Elmer Beiler, Elizabeth wife of the late Daniel King; a sister-in-law, Joanne Riehl and Anna Mary Boettger longtime companion of Amos. He was preceded in death by: five brothers, Elias, Elam Jr., Amos, Samuel, Jacob; two sisters, twins Aary and Mary Riehl. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at 12:00PM from the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Burial will be held in Monterey Chapel Cemetery, Leola, PA. Viewing will be held from 10AM until the time of his funeral service at 12PM at the funeral home.
