Stephen C. Kirchner, 71, of Lancaster, PA, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Pauline M. (Boxleitner) Kirchner.

A 1970 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, Steve earned a bachelor's degree from Bloomsburg University in 1974. He worked at Alumax from 1977 to 1990 as the Environmental Administrator and then for SKF USA, Inc. from 1990 to 2011 as the Corporate Manager of Environmental Affairs.

Steve was a naturalist and birdwatcher, who enjoyed hiking with his dogs, tent camping, skiing, and canoeing. He experienced great vacations to Chincoteague, VA, and Glacier National Park in Montana. A funny, silly, and goofy person, Steve enjoyed mimicking funny movie scenes for his family.

Surviving Steve are his son, Nathaniel "Nate" Kirchner of York, daughter, Hope E. Amspacher, wife of Scott of Red Lion, four grandchildren, Joshua Kirchner, Matthew Kirchner, Lillian Amspacher, and Kaylee Amspacher, and four siblings, Darlene Deverter, wife of Joseph of Mount Joy, Suzanne Bollinger of Chambersburg, Thomas Kirchner of Lancaster, and Theresa Koch of Vicksburg. In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his grandson Zachary Kirchner in 2021, and his sister Margaret Garmen.

Steve's family will greet guests from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by the memorial service at 2:00 pm, on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Interment will be private.
