Stephanie L. "Mrs. C." Oster-Canouse, 53, of Lancaster passed away peacefully at her home on July 25th, 2013. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of John and Doris (Stetter) Russell. Stephanie was a 1977 graduate of Hempfield High School. She was employed by Hamilton Watch Company and Rolex Watch Service Center in her earlier years. In recent years, she worked in the Hempfield School District with children of special needs, both at Centerville Elementary and Middle Schools. Her career at Hempfield was driven by her passion to inspire her kids and cherished every minute spent in the classroom with them. In her free time, she enjoyed time at the beach with family, friends and her husband. She enjoyed bike riding, cooking, reading and watching the sunset. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Gregory S. Canouse, and her children, Kyle J. Oster, Chelsea Anne., wife of Kyle Pine, Russell S. Canouse and Riley J. Canouse and her dog Calvin; three sisters Shelley Rohde of Lititz, Sherry Weaver of Sadsburyville, Stacy Penaranda of Arlington, VA and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Steph at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is honoring her memory by creating a foundation in her name called "Mrs. C's Angels" which will benefit special needs children and facilities throughout Lancaster County.
