Sophie M. Zwolenik, 89, of Lancaster, was welcomed into the gates of Heaven on November 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Summit Hill, PA she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Gurka) Ogozalek. She was the loving wife of Peter M. Zwolenik for over 60 years until his passing in January 2021.

A devout Catholic her entire life, she dedicated herself to her family and the church. In her youth she was an active member in the Polish choir, where she developed her love of singing which she carried through her life. Sophie and Peter were founding members of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. After retirement, they dedicated 15 years together cleaning the church. She also volunteered many hours in the cafeteria of Sacred Heart.

When she wasn't caring for her family and others, she enjoyed spending time with friends socializing and getting together for dinner or taking bus trips to casinos.

Her love will live on in her children, Cheryl, wife of Scott Schmidt, and Stephen Zwolenik, husband of Sara, both of Lancaster; grandchildren, Tyler Eisenhaur Schmidt, Grace Richardson Zwolenik, and Oliver Zwolenik; their beloved honorary granddaughter, Emily Walter, and a brother, Stanley Ogozalek. She was preceded in passing by her parents, husband Peter, and a brother, Edward Ogozalek.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville Pike, Lancaster, PA 17603, at 11 AM on Friday, December 1, 2023. Family and friends will be received at the church from 10 AM until Mass. Interment to follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sophie's name may be made to St. Anne's Retirement Community .
