Shirley Ann Brown, age 84 of Lancaster P.A., passed away peacefully, on May 6 2020 of natural causes in the comfort of her home. Shirley was known in family and friends circles as " Encyclopedia Brown" because of her inexplicable knowledge of just about everything.

She was born on August 14, 1935 in Quarryville P.A., to Norman and Ann Schneider. Shirley was a 1953 Solanco High school graduate and earned her CNA after 27 years of service as a supervisor at Schwalms Dial in Lancaster. Shirley also worked as a manager for Kmart Inc. in Lancaster.

Shirley was preceded in death by both parents, a brother Sonny Ruth and sister Margaret Mentzer, three husbands Joe Gomez, Melvin Brown, and George Benning. Shirley is survived by four children Gwendolyn Gomez, Joe Gomez, Glenda Freeman, and George L. Brown, eleven grandchildren also several, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.

Mrs. Brown was an avid reader, cook and enjoyed doing arts and crafts. She loved the holidays and celebrating them with her family. Shirley was a strong independent woman. Her knowledge and unconditional love will be missed by many.
