Shirley A. Andes, 74, of Denver died Monday at Lancaster General Hospital.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and reading.  She was of the Methodist faith.  She was a loving and wonderful mother in raising all eight of her children.

Born in Lancaster she was the daughter of the late Abram R. and Bertha McCauley Lefever.

She was married to Earl Benjamin Andes Sr. who died February 14, 1987.

Surviving are eight children; Brenda Lee Martin of Ephrata; Deborah L. married to Jack E. Miller of Lancaster; Michaela G. Martin of Denver; Cynthia M. Paparo-Maderro of Denver; Earl B. Jr. married to Carol Andes of Atlantic City, NJ; John David Andes of Reamstown; Susan Kay Andes of Lancaster; Darryl E. Andes of Ephrata; 20 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a brother; Lytle Lefever of Manheim and two sisters, Fay Weiss of Lancaster and Alma L. Clark of Winter Garden, FL.  She was preceded in death by a brother Karl Lefever and a sister Jane Billows.

A memorial service will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster on Thursday evening at 7:00pm.  A calling time will be held from 6:00pm until time of service.  Flowers will be received or contributions may be made in Shirley's memory to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
