IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sherry Lynn
Ressler
March 5, 2024
Sherry Lynn Ressler, 75, of Conestoga, passed away peacefully at Hospice surrounded by her loving family on March 5, 2024, after a short battle with cancer.
Sherry was born in Ephrata and was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Gus E. Forte. After having her children, she earned her GED and attended nursing school, earning her LPN license. While working for Dr. Richard Weber, she developed and maintained close life-time friendships with other nurses who worked in the office until retiring to be a full-time MawMaw. She was creative and talented in the fabric arts and collected dolls. She fashioned amazingly detailed doll houses from household items like a bird cage and suitcase and did many counted cross-stitch and other handmade projects such as quilts, often giving them as gifts. Sherry was always busy doing something helpful and useful. She attended Grace Church at Willow Valley.
Sherry is survived by her devoted and loving husband, David L. Ressler, and would have celebrated their 59th anniversary this coming September. They enjoyed time away together at their cabin in Frenchville, PA. Sherry was a wonderful mother to her children, Tammy Forte (late Gus) of Lancaster, David Ressler (Lee) of Lancaster, and Drema Schwebel (Bill) of Willow Street. She is also survived by grandchildren Lucas Forte of Millersville, Cole Forte (Kara) of Manheim, Tyler and Isabel Schwebel, and Joshua and Caleb Ressler. She adored them and enjoyed supporting them and attending their many activities and family gatherings. MawMaw's kitchen and cookie bakery were always open! The family promised her they would continue to gather often for meals, games, and laughter. Also surviving are siblings Drema Huber (Elwood), Daniel Sheetz (Stephanie), Terry Sheetz (Nancy), Carolyn Bitner (Michael), and cousin Jean Lucas, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made to Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA, 17604. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Nurse Navigator Nicole and Drs. Brennen and Boimel and their staff at Barshinger Cancer Center and Hospice & Community Care for their guidance and expert care.
