Sheree Kohler of Manheim Township, passed away after a second brave fight with ovarian cancer on July 13th. Sheree was born June 10, 1957 and recently celebrated her 57th birthday as well as her 27th wedding anniversary.
She graduated from McCaskey in 1975 and attended PSU where on a whim, she purchased an MGB. This eventually led to dating and marrying her part-time mechanic, Philippe Carier. Together, they settled in Sheree's native Lancaster and raised two wonderful daughters, Jacquelyn and Jillian, surrounded by family and friends.
Sheree enjoyed many outdoor activities like gardening, planting trees and providing habitat and food for birds and squirrels; but nothing brought her as much joy as home-schooling her two beautiful daughters, supporting after school activities and spending time with family. As homeschooling wound down, she went back to work, first at Willow Valley Bakery as Lead Bakery Assistant and then at Clipper Magazine, where she enjoyed the company and friendship of many coworkers. A Kir Royale with her husband on special occasions was also on her top ten list. Her common sense, honesty and candor will be missed by all who knew her well.
She is survived by her husband, Philippe Carier; daughters, Jacquelyn and Jillian Carier of Lancaster. She is also survived by her mother, Joan (Welk) Kohler, sisters Desiree Kohler, Dawn Roth, and Valerie Kauffman all of Columbia, PA, and numerous nephews and nieces ; she was preceded in death by her father, Charles E. Kohler, Jr..
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Sheree's memory to the YORK SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406. Friends will be received on Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 1:30-2PM at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA with a Time Of Sharing to follow at 2PM. Interment will be private.
