IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shelley Joan
Freund
December 24, 2016
Shelley Joan Freund passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on December 24th with her husband and children at her side. Shelley was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She started a dry goods business in 1995 that is still owned and operated by the family. Shelley was an avid cook and taught her children how to conduct themselves in the kitchen. Her recipes were handed down to her family and they are one way she will be remembered. She also enjoyed film, books playing bingo, collecting art, all things Jewish and loved animals, especially, her beloved cats. She had a great sense of humor and will perhaps be best remembered for the way she cared for her family, particularly her seriously ill mother, sister and father-in-law. She also enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. She dedicated her life to looking after the ill and misfortunate, and she was at her mother's and sister's side when they passed. The years of looking after loved ones took, at times, an emotional toll on her but she persevered and never lost faith in God and the ability of people to be kind to one another.
Shelley was born in Bronx New York on February 28th, 1946. She was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in Queens, New York. She matriculated at Brooklyn College where she studied Biology. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Paul Freund, four children and three grandchildren. She was preceded to her eternal rest by her mother (Ann Myrna Braverman), father (Louis Braverman) and fraternal twin sister (Abby Lynn). She will always be loved and never forgotten. May her memory be a blessing.
Graveside services and interment will take place in Beth Moses Cemetery, West Babylon, Long Island, New York.
