Obituary

Shawn D. Keller, 22, of 18 Highland Ct., Reinholds, passed away on Friday at Lancaster General Hospital. As Shawn was an outgoing and true "people person", he is now helping others through his gifts of being an organ donor.

Born in Lancaster, Shawn is the son of Wanda S. Shaeffer Bomberger of Reinholds and Michael H. Keller of Lancaster. He is the step son of Robert M. Bomberger. He is the fiancée of Renee Spangler of Lancaster and attending St. Joseph' s University in Philadelphia, together since their sophomore year in high school.

Shawn had been serving his apprenticeship and studying for his certification in HVAC and plumbing, working for Frey Mechanical in Mount Joy; working in this field and for Frey's was a job that he truly enjoyed. During summer breaks from college in recent years, he had worked for Tait Towers in Lititz.

In his younger years, he played soccer, midget football and baseball. A 2003 graduate of Manheim Twp. High School, Shawn played freshman football, and became a very accomplished baseball player, serving as captain of the team his senior year. He also played Legion baseball, where he was voted to the All Star Team and was named the 2004 Legion Outstanding Outfielder. After graduation, he enrolled at Burlington County Community College in New Jersey, where he played left field for the college, and studied graphic design.

An all-around sports fan, he enjoyed following the Flyers, the Dallas Cowboys, the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, Notre Dame football, and the University of Kansas basketball team.

Shawn was known for always having a constant smile and a great sense of humor. His family and friends were of great importance to him, and he was never by himself, always enjoying the company of family, teammates and friends.

In addition to his parents, step father and fiancée, Shawn is survived by his brother, Justin M. Keller of Reinholds, his stepbrother Blake R. Bomberger and stepsister Gretchen M. Bomberger, both of Reinholds. Also surviving are his maternal grandmother, Doris J. Shaeffer and  maternal great grandmother Helen A.
