IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shashanah Beatrice
Payne
December 30, 1984 – March 8, 2025
Shashanah Beatrice Payne, a beloved daughter, sister, educator, and friend, transitioned from this world unexpectedly on March 8, 2025, at the age of 40. She was born on December 30, 1984, in Bronx, NY, and spent her formative years in Manheim Township, where she cultivated an infectious laughter that could brighten the dullest of days and a radiant smile that warmed the hearts of everyone around her.
A graduate of Manheim Township High School, she further pursued her passion for knowledge, earning an Associate's Degree from Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC). She had a profound love for cooking, especially Spanish dishes that brought her family together around the dinner table. Each bite was a testament to her warmth and love—a legacy she imparted to those she held dear. Every year, she cherished trips to Ocean City, Maryland, where the salty breeze and sun-kissed shore cultivated memories that shall endure with her kids.
Her passion for the performing arts was evident as a key member of the Imani Edu-tainers Dance Company, specializing in African Dance, and as a spirited cheerleader for the Manheim Township High School and All Stars Teams. Her enthusiasm for dance was infectious, drawing others into the joyous celebration of movement and culture.
Shashanah is survived by her loving family including her parents, Bruce and Marlene Payne of Lancaster, her children, Luis, Anaijah, and Imani Mantilla, siblings, Sonsorray Peterson, wife of Lavar of Philadelphia, and Bruce Payne, husband of Lina of Norristown, nieces and nephews, Serenity, Lavar, and Shane Peterson, as well as Roman & Xavier Payne, her aunts and uncles: Katrina Wright, Eric & Crystal Payne, Doug & June Payne, Charlene Henry, Isaiah Henry, Ronald & Karen Copeland, Katrina Hardy, and Joseph & Candi Hardy, and a host of extended family.
In honor of Shashanah's life and legacy, the family will hold a Public Viewing on March 20, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. A Funeral Service will commence that same day at 4:00 PM, celebrating her remarkable journey and the indelible impact she left on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Memorial contributions are encouraged to be made to, https://gofund.me/6856aab8 , to help further support her children.
