Serafin Torres, 83 of Lancaster died Saturday morning, May 5, 2007 after an illness at his home, with his family by his side.

He worked at the Host Farm Hotel for many years in their kitchen.  Before moving to Lancaster, Serafin owned his own farm and enjoyed growing vegetables, farming and working with farm animals.

He is a member of San Juan Bautista Catholic Church. Sarafin was born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, and was the son of the late Adolfo Torres and the late Carmen Rodriguez.  He was married to Leonarda (Morales) Torres.  Surviving besides his wife are 14 children, 25 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and Friends are respectively invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday morning at 11:00AM from St. Juan Bautista Catholic Church.  Viewing times are Monday evening from 7:00PM to 9:00PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St.  A second viewing will be held on Tuesday morning at the church from 10:00AM to 11:00AM.  Interment  Mellingers Mennonite Cemetery.
