Obituary

Sarah "Sally" (nee Goetchius) Kellogg Power died peacefully in her 78th year on August 4, 2006 at the Brethren Village Nursing Home in Lititz , Pennsylvania after a brave fight with cancer.

Much loved mother of Christopher Noble (Joan Sametz), Susannah Morgan (Gervas Wall), and Alexandra Kay. Loving grandmother of Daniel and Sarah Power, and Nicholas and Jonathan Wall. Sister of the late Mary Plumb and aunt of J. Michael Plumb, Wendy Thomas, and Peter Plumb (Carol) and great-aunt of Charles, Matthew, and Hugh Plumb, Timothy and Lisa Thomas.

She spent her youth in Smithtown, Long Island, and received her BA from Vassar College and her MA in International Affairs from Columbia University . She raised her family near Ottawa , Canada .

She moved to Oxford , Pennsylvania , in 1988 where she remained until her death.  She was a bridge-master and a liberal thinker and will be sorely missed by her many bridge friends. Her other pastimes included traveling, tennis, skiing, riding, breeding and raising horses, writing and reading, theatre and bird-watching.

Memorial service Saturday August 12, 10:00 a.m., St Thomas Episcopal Church, 301 St Thomas Road, Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The family will meet friends at the church from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.; and luncheon will follow the service. Donations, if desired, to the American Cancer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
