Sara J. Metzler, 59, of Strasburg, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 31, 2013, at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. She was born in Lancaster to Evelyn Rapp Rineer of Strasburg and the late Paul H. Rineer. Sara and her husband Donald H. Metzler were married 34 years last Sunday.

A 1971 graduate of Solanco High School, Sara worked with Don at Metzler Mower as the bookkeeper. She was also a homemaker and a great caregiver to her family and friends. She especially loved caring for her grandson and great nieces and nephews. Sara attended Gap Community Church and she enjoyed gardening and going to Bingo with her family.

In addition to her husband Don and mother Evelyn, Sara's family includes her son Jared Metzler, husband of Nikki of Strasburg, daughter Shannon Metzler of Culpeper, VA, grandson Jase Metzler; and her siblings Paul Rineer, husband of Stacy of Lititz, Jim Rineer, husband of Lori of Millersville, Joe Rineer, husband of Evelyn of Willow Street, Wes Rineer, husband of Helen of East Petersburg, and Diane, wife of Eric Traup of Airville.

The funeral will take place 11 AM, Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at Georgetown United Methodist Church, 1070 Georgetown Rd, Bart, PA 17503, with Pastor Merrill Smucker officiating. Viewings will be held 6-8 PM Tuesday, November 5th, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 and 10-11 AM Wednesday at the church. Interment in the adjoining cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Georgetown U.M.
