Obituary

Santiago Velazquez-Green, 89, of Conestoga View Nursing Home died Sunday at his residence.

He was a retired self-employed carpenter.  He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.  He was a veteran of WWII.

Born in Coamo, Puerto Rico he was the son of the late Guillermo Velazquez and Francisca Green.

He was married to Juana Ortiz Ramos who died in 2003.

Surviving are eleven children; Eneida Velazquez; Hilda Diaz-Vega; Migdalia DeJesus; Eva Rivera; Emma Alvarado all of Lancaster; Virgen Mina Velazquez of Conestoga; Olga Bailey; Israel Velazquez; Efrain Velazquez all of Lancaster; Jose Velazquez of Puerto Rico; Angel Velazquez of Florida; 34 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 24 great great grandchildren; five sisters; Raquel Velazquez; Luz M. Velazquez; Ana M. Velazquez; Maria L. Velazquez; Rosa M. Velazquez all of Puerto Rico.  He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 425 S. Duke St., Lancaster on Wednesday at 11:00am.  Friends may call at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster on Tuesday evening from 7:00pm until 9:00pm and again at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:00am until 11:00am.  Interment in Mellingers Mennonite Cemetery.
