IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra Lee
"Sandy" Shoop
August 9, 2024
Sandra Lee "Sandy" Shoop, 76, of Lititz, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2024. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Elizabeth (Polito) Small. She was married to the late John Shoop who preceded her in passing in 2020.
Sandy was raised in Havertown and graduated from Haverford High School. She was an extremely hardworking independent woman that held various positions throughout her career. Her favorite role was being a mother and grandmother. Sandy worked her earlier years as an EMT and Pharmacy Technician and her later years in retail at Hallmark as lead keyholder, Weis as a monitor, key holder at self-checkout and Gertrude Hawk in management.
She was known to be a caregiver and mom/grandma to many more than just her immediate family. Sandy had a strong love for all animals but defiantly would call herself a cat Mom. Sandy had an indescribable strength some may call her a superwoman. She was kind, generous, loving, giving, nurturing, cheerful, driven, and family oriented.
She had a strong faith and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She absolutely loved the holidays and being able to decorate, especially Christmas. Sandy loved lighthouses and visiting the ocean at least once a year. In earlier years, the family would vacation at Wildwood, NJ and more recently Sandy would enjoy taking a trip to Florida to visit her daughter, Jaci son in law Michael and grandson Austin. Sandy's family will remember her for her strong and unwavering love, sense of humor, generosity, and compassion, and so much more. She will be sorely missed by all.
Sandy is survived by her 2 daughters: Tammy Gruver (Mike Davin) and Jacqueline Goldsmith (Michael); 2 grandchildren: Kylie Davin and Austin Goldsmith; sister Patricia Barlow, and beloved nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her cat Mikki and dog Lex. She was predeceased by her former husband, George "Bud" Downey.
A celebration of Sandy's life will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 11 AM at Trinity Baptist Church, 596 W. Newport Rd, Lititz, PA 17543. The family will receive guests beginning at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in Sandy's name to American Heart Association, heart.org .
