Sandra "Sandy" A. Roschel Kametz, of Lancaster, PA passed away surrounded by her family after a long illness on Monday, February 2, 2009 at Hospice of Lancaster County. She was born in Lancaster to the late Charles J. and Anna Mae (Markley) Roschel.
Sandy was the wife of Gary L. Kametz.
Sandy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Cabbage Hill.
Sandy grew up going to St. Joe's School and was a graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School.
She worked for her brother Dr. Robert L. Roschel at Dermatology Physicians Inc. and Dr. Steven Jacobs in the medical billing departments.
Sandy held memberships at Rainmakers, 7 th Ward Republican Club, and AMVETS. She enjoyed shopping, reading, Las Vegas trips, long walks, animals, and racing horses. She was part owner of Gloria Stables.
Surviving in addition to her husband are four brothers, Richard Roschel husband of Elaine of Lititz, Dr. Robert L. Roschel husband of Ann of Lancaster, Ronald E. Roschel husband of Frances of Lancaster, Howard "Cork" Roschel husband of JoAnn of Willow Street, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers Charles Roschel Jr., James Roschel, and Harold Roschel and two sisters Gloria Roschel Roda, and Dorothy Stoll.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at 10am from St. Joseph Catholic Church 440 St. Joseph St. Lancaster, PA with Rev. Joseph Hilbert and Msgr. Thomas H. Smith as Celebrants. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St. Lancaster, PA, 717-393-9661 with a Christian Prayer Service at 7:30pm. Interment will take place at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sandy's memory may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, PO Box 4125 Lancaster, PA 17604.
