Salvatore ("Chick", "Sal") J. Russo, 88, of Lititz, formerly of Glen Mills, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Moravian Manor. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Salvatore was the beloved son of the late Rose (Grosso) and James Russo.
Salvatore was the loving husband of Regina Russo, with whom he shared 66 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and lasting memories.
A proud alumnus of Temple University, Salvatore dedicated over four decades of his professional life to the healthcare industry, serving as a Healthcare Insurance Executive for Blue Cross for 44 years. His leadership, work ethic, and commitment to helping others left a lasting impact on both colleagues and the communities he served.
Salvatore was a man of many passions. He was an avid tennis player and enjoyed bocce. He also loved to travel. A gifted singer, he participated in the church choir and community chorus. He also enjoyed hosting and emceeing events at Fox Hill Farms—a role he cherished and embraced with enthusiasm.
Above all, Salvatore was a devoted family man. In addition to his wife, Regina, he is survived by his children, Marc Russo, MD, husband of Correen, of Lititz, PA and Renee Russo of Earleville, MD. He was a proud grandfather to Benjamin Russo and Daniel Russo, MD, husband of Elaina Russo, MD. His legacy continues through his cherished great-grandchildren, Esther and Cyrus Russo.
He is also survived by his brothers, James Russo (Patricia) of Ridley Park, and Richard Russo (Elaine) of Sun City West, AZ, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Russo and sister-in-law Mary Ann.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 11, 2025, at St. Cornelius Church, 160 Ridge Road, Chadds Ford, PA 19317. Family and friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Inurnment will follow at St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery, 430 Valleybrook Rd, Glen Mills, PA 19342
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org or to the Moravian Manor Benevolent Fund, 300 W. Lemon Street, Lititz, PA 17543.
