Ruth H. Young, 81, of Lancaster, quietly passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mt. Joy. She was born in Hazelton, PA to the late Emory and Bertha (Hahn) Houseknecht.

Ruth is survived by her husband J. Herbert Young. They were married in Elizabethtown on May 9, 1954.

Ruth was an active member at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for forty-nine years.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, Paul A. Young, husband of Lisa, of Mt. Joy, Philip C. Young, partner of Michael Rockwell, of Lancaster, Mark G. Young, husband of Denise, of Lancaster, six grandchildren, and two nieces.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 31 S. Duke St. Lancaster, PA 17602 on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 11am with Rev. Sadie Pounder officiating. Family will greet friends following the service. Interment will be private in the church memorial garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
