Ruth S. (Strohm) Wetzel, 99, of Lititz passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on Sunday, March 3, 2019. She was born in Lititz, PA to the late Emma (Stauffer) and Solomon L. Strohm. Ruth shared 42 wonderful years of marriage to the late Charles J. Wetzel who passed in 1982.

After graduating from Rothsville High School in 1937, she worked as an Administrative Clerk for the Lancaster County Courthouse until her retirement.

Ruth loved to spend time with her family and also enjoyed taking care of her cats and her daily glass of Thunderbird. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality and zest for life.

Ruth is survived by her children: Chrystine (Timothy) McNamara of Wantagh, NY and Michael (Karen) Wetzel of Lititz, PA; 2 grandchildren: Dr. William (Megan) McNamara of TX and Kimberly (Denis) Mangan of NY and 3 great-grandchildren: Fiona, Lorna, and Liam. She was preceded in death by her sister Arlene Martin.

A Memorial Service will take place at 11:30AM on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Friends and family will be received from 10:30AM until the time of service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Furever Home Adoption Center, 5984 Main Street, East Petersburg, PA 17520.
