Ruth K. Steele, 90, of New Providence, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 23, 2023.

Born in Gassaway, WV, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Dovie Mae (Burnside) Dawson. She was married to the late Jack D. Steele.

Throughout her life, she embodied the true spirit of caregiving, putting the well-being of others above her own without a second thought. Her nurturing nature and genuine kindness touched the lives of countless individuals. She loved to share her faith and prayer. Those aspects were an important part of her life. Ruth also worked as a waitress and bartender at the Bunny Club. She enjoyed gardening.

Ruth is survived by her two children, Brenda (Harold III) Feerrar, Jack D. (Christien) Steele; her grandchildren, Lace Ann, Janine, Harold IV, Lance, Allison, and Jack T.; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; and two brothers, William and Robert Paintiff.

A celebration of Ruth's life will be held at the convenience of the family.
