Ruth J. Smith, 91, formerly of Lititz, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016 in York, PA. She was the wife of the late Rev. Christian A. Smith, who passed away in 1996. Born in Oley Twp, Berks County, she was the daughter of the late William and Cora Haas Herbein. Ruth had worked for the RCA Corporation for 30 years, last working there as the main receptionist. She was a member of the New Apostolic Church in Lancaster, whose congregation was started by Ruth and her late husband after moving from Shillington. Ruth was very dedicated to her church and her family, her home was always open to all, and she was loved by many and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughters: Truda E. Keech of York, Becky S. married to John C. Fisher of Stevens, and Margaret R. married to Gary Elsing of Sellersville, PA; her 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 8 siblings. Friends will be received on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 9:30-11:30AM at the New Apostolic Church, 2425 Spring Valley Rd., Lancaster, PA 17602, with the Memorial Service to follow at 12 Noon.
