Obituary

Ruth E. Parmer, 95, formerly of East Petersburg, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024.

She was the wife of the late Robert L. Parmer, who passed away in 2002. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Ober Ruhl. Ruth was a descendant of Peter Gotshall, a prominent landowner who sold parcels of land to Daniel Wolf, who was the founder of East Petersburg and named the town in Peter's honor.

Ruth had been a homemaker, and a long-time member of Grace EC Church of East Petersburg (formerly Lancaster) where she taught Sunday School for 25 years, served on the board, and was very involved in missions support.

She loved flowers and her flower beds, making bouquets that she sold at her house over the years. Ruth also had worked at the voting polls in East Petersburg for 25 years as well. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and babysitting in years past.

Ruth is survived by her children: Donald married to Sue Parmer of Columbia, Dennis married to Sue Parmer of Ephrata, and Brenda married to John Worden of Landisville; her 7 grandchildren, her 15 great grandchildren, and her 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Parmer Jr. and her 2 brothers: Lloyd and John, and her 2 sisters: Blanche and Arlene.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Graveside Services at Conestoga Memorial Park, 85 Second Lock Rd., Lancaster, PA on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 2PM.
