Ruth P. Modderman, 92, of Willow Street, peacefully passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023. Born in Boston to Gustave C. Schmunk and Dorothy Sweeney, Ruth's life was marked by love, service, and a passion for literature.

Ruth was the beloved wife of the late John Modderman, who preceded her in death in 2022. She dedicated many years to her career as a salesperson for a jewelry store, leaving an indelible mark on those she encountered. Her commitment to her community was reflected in her long-standing membership at West Willow United Methodist Church, Willow Street. Ruth had a great sense of humor with a streak of sarcasm. An avid reader, Ruth found solace and joy in the pages of Danielle Steel's books. Her compassionate spirit extended to volunteer work at the Willow Street Goodwill, where she generously gave her time to benefit others. Ruth also cherished the companionship of her pet dogs, finding comfort in their loyal presence.

Ruth is survived by her loving daughter-in-law Cynthia Korowaj sons, Mark Modderman, husband of Cheryl, David P. Modderman, husband of Jenny and son-in-law Jeffrey Morrow. She is also remembered fondly by her 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her first husband, Simon (Sam) Korowaj, her children James Korowaj, Jeffrey Korowaj, and Ruth Morrow, as well as her sister, Dorothy Farrell.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 2 PM to 3 PM with service in memory of Ruth to be held at 3PM on Sunday December 10, 2023, at West Willow United Methodist Church, 118 W. Willow Rd., Willow Street, PA 17584. Interment will be on Monday, December 11, 2023, at 9:30am at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA Ruth's legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
