Ruth Ann "Doopy" Brown, 55, of Lancaster went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 18, 2014. Born in Lancaster she was the daughter of the late Robert Anderson and Mary Francis Brown.

A JP McCaskey graduate she went onto work as a teacher's assistant for the School District of Lancaster for over 27 years. She also helped mentor and shape the lives of many students at JP McCaskey, Arbor Place, Crispus Attucks and the Girls Scouts. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, dancing and playing bingo. She was a friend to all that she came in contact with.

She is survived by her 3 children: Son, Kyle G. Brown, husband of Miriam Ortega-Brown, of Lancaster, 2 daughters, Immani and Kura Brown, of Atlanta, GA; 2 grandsons, Mekhi and Xavier Brown. Also surviving are 5 brothers, Donald Brown, Tyrand Brown, husband of Sharon, Terry Lee Brown, Clarence Brown, David Brown, and 5 sisters, Robin Woodard, wife of Realus, Pamela Brown, Pearlette Brown, Carlena Brown and Peggy Dixon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Larry Brown, Sr., husband of Ann Louise Brown, Dale E. Brown and a sister, Joyce Evans.

Home Going Services will be at 12 Noon on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Brightside Baptist Church, 515 Hershey Ave, Lancaster, PA 17603. A viewing will be held from 10-12 at the church on Saturday. Interment in Mellinger's Mennonite Cemetery. Flowers will be received.
