Ruth Arlene Bowman, 85, passed away April 15, 2014 following a brief stay at Moravian Manor. Born in Peach Bottom, she was the daughter of the late Hayes and Elsie (McCoy) Brown. She was preceded in death in 2010 by her husband, John F. Bowman.

She worked as an Inspector for Alcoa Mill Products. She retired in 1987 after 27 years of service. She was a 1946 graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School.

Ruth was a member of Alcoa 25 Year Club, and Theodore Burr Covered Bridge Society. She enjoyed golfing and bowling in her free time.

Ruth is survived by a son, Michael D. Bowman, husband of Susan E., sister Marian Riedel, wife of Rev. Warren, and two grandsons Stephen and Jonathan, all of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Hayes Brown and Charles Brown, and sister Betty Kline.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 4:30PM with Rev. Warren Riedel officiating. Visitation will be held the hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
