Ronald Stanley Skotarczak, 75 of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 30, 2022. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Stanley and Stella Skotarczak. He leaves behind his beloved wife of almost 54 years, Patricia Skotarczak. Big Ron, or 'BR', as he was affectionately called, started every morning by completing the newspaper crossword puzzles. His passion was horse racing and spent many hours handicapping and betting on races. He also enjoyed playing blackjack and slots at the casino and watching college sports. He loved listening to his favorite entertainers which included The Beach Boys, The Temptations and Shania Twain. Growing up, he was an avid athlete and instilled this love of sports into all three of his children. He taught them the importance of responsibility and accountability, preparing them for their respective journeys into adulthood. Patricia always knew she was the light of his life. Ron was always supportive, protective, caring and proud of her as well as his children and grandchildren. In addition to his wife Patricia, Ronald is survived by 3 children: Ronald Skotarczak II (Erin), Matthew Skotarczak (Jennifer), and Stephanie Benis (Paul); 7 grandchildren: Dylan, Nicholas, Drew, Jack, Alexandra, Luke, and Ryan; and his sister Lorraine Davis (Jack). A celebration of Ronald's life will be held on Monday, July 25 beginning at 1 PM at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Ron's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
