Obituary

Born in Scranton Pennsylvania, On September 11, 1943; To Betty Carr and David Kellam A fine gentleman Ron would be.

A 6'3 ½" talented basketball player, Ron's well-deserved nickname was Cage; A scholarship to Keystone College, Records still stand on his new-found stage.

Riding to school in a red Karmann Ghia, Ron's best friend Karl behind the wheel; Barbara Kay Sorg shared the passenger seat, In a short time true love was revealed.

Onward to Susquehanna University, Then to Price Waterhouse in NYC; A Bachelor's of Science degree in Finance, A lifelong CPA Ron would be.

Wedded to his Homecoming Queen, On July 3, 1965; The two found a forever hometown in Lancaster, Where the Kellam family would thrive.

First Kristine Lynn then Ronald Scott, Finally Michael Alan made his debut; A caring, enthusiastic Husband and Dad, Cherishing nothing above time with his crew.

For Kuntz, Lesher, Briggs, Siegrist, Fultineer, Ron was a public accountant extraordinaire; As Treasurer, Dodge Cork and VP, Finance, KD Tools, He tackled new assignments with flair.

Even and calm when asked for advice, To his kids always a voice of wisdom; His "garage talks" were absolutely legendary, Problem solved, without overbearing opinion.

Soccer, baseball or tennis, Basketball or band; "You must be involved in an activity," Was Dad's constant stand. "You don't have to excel athletically, But you have to give it your best;" "Manners and sportsmanship are critical." Dad never gave it a rest.

"Be careful out there, it's crazy Friday," Dad would warn on allowance day; "Stay alert, the world needs more lerts," He'd often be heard to say.

Family dinners, coaching games, and summer vacations, Participating in home life was Ron's heart and soul; Nick, Sam, Cole, Mia, Saylor, and Sidney, Being Pop to his grandkids made him whole.

A voracious reader-two books a week! Ron had a respect and passion for history; In favorites Grisham and Patterson, He could never put down a good mystery.

With a tremendous sense of humor, And always quick with a joke; Ron "never forgot a good one," His audience leaned forward when he spoke.

Our cherished times, memories, and laughter, Will never be in short supply; From the bottom of our broken hearts, To Ron, Dad, and Pop, We tearfully say goodbye.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, children, Kris, Scott (Kathleen), and Mike, and grandchildren, Nick, Sam, Cole, Mia, Saylor, and Sidney, Ron is survived by sister and brother in-laws, Bob (Barbara) Sorg, MJ Sorg Richardson, Betsy Sorg Chermak, Ryck Sorg, Teri Sorg McManamon (Mike), and Denise Sorg, as well as nieces and nephews, Patty Swarts, Kelly Gauntlett, David Lacey, Beth Casciaro, Jimmy Sorg, Jeff Sorg, John Sorg, Eric Sorg, JR Sorg, Will Richardson, Amy Matlock, and Lindsay Powers.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, sister Connie Lacey (Tom), son-in-law Tom Jernstedt, brother-in-law Jim Sorg, and niece Tricia Sorg.

A private service will be held at the family's convenience. Ron will be interred in The Memorial Garden at Highland Presbyterian Church.
