Ronald L. Harper

Ronald L. Harper, 92, of Willow Street and formerly of Strasburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026 at the Lakeside of Willow Valley Communities. He was the devoted husband of the late Nancy (Goodfriend) Harper, who died in 2016.

Born in West Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Robert S. and Edith (Fetters) Harper.

Ron graduated in the first class from Henderson High School in 1951. After earning a Forestry degree from Penn State University in 1955, he served 2 years in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was employed 31 years with PECO (Exelon), mostly in Corporate and Public Affairs. He was a past president of the Penn-Del Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture.

Following retirement, Ron volunteered for American Red Cross Disaster Services and was active in the Strasburg Heritage Society, serving as publicity chairman since 1997.

Surviving are his children, Douglas R. Harper; David R. Harper; Megan Harper; and 5 grandchildren.

Funeral services and interment will be held privately for his family.
