Ronald D Gieg, 68, of New Providence, passed away on Feb 2, 2017 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Lancaster, he was the husband of Miriam (Hershey) Gieg of New Providence, and was one of four sons of the late Harry and Dorothy (Rote) Gieg. Ron was involved in many business ventures, but his passion for helping others led to his insurance brokerage of more than 20 years. He was also involved for many years in Just Press Play Video Games with his son, Zac. Some of Ron's favorite pursuits were fishing, cars, writing, business, and spending time with family. In addition to his wife of 43 years, he is survived by a son Zac, husband of Katie; daughter Ashley, wife of Burton Salthouse; and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Barry and John. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz with Henry Hershey officiating. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
