Obituary

Ronald Edward Bennett, 77, of Manheim Twp., passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy. Born in Ridgway, PA, he was the son of the late George and Katherine (Morgan) Bennett. Ronald was the beloved husband of Joan M. (Vorndran) Bennett, and together they celebrated 51 years of marriage.

Following his graduation from Altoona High School in 1963, Ronald honorably served his country during Vietnam as a member of the US Army. He worked as a Saw Operator for Edgcomb Metals in York, retiring in 2008 after more than 40 years of service. Following retirement, he continued being an avid woodworker; a hobby which he loved and was passionate about sharing with everyone. He also became the proud owner of a 1980 Corvette. His family, and especially his grandchildren, were his greatest pride and joy. Ronald was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Lancaster.

In addition to his wife, Joan, Ronald is survived by three daughters: Tricia Myers and her husband Ken of Orefield, PA; Karen Henry of Lancaster; and Jill Marinaro and her husband Marco of Lititz. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren: Ben and Lauren Myers, Caroline, Shawn and Justin Henry, and Grace, Bella and Abby Marinaro. Also surviving is his brother, Bill Bennett, husband of Norma, of Hollidaysburg, PA; a sister-in-law, Ann Bennett of Altoona; and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Carl and Jim Bennett and sister Joan Bennett.

A viewing will take place from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Sunday, August 30, 2020, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543.
