IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rodney Devon
Johnson
December 4, 2025
Rodney Devon Johnson, 42, of Pittsburgh, and formerly of Lancaster, passed away unexpectedly on December 4, 2025. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Rodney Wayne Myers (wife Tracy) and Rhonda E. Johnson.
Rodney, also affectionately referred to as "Hot Rod", was a graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School, class of 2002, and obtained a bachelor's degree from Millersville University. While at Millersville, he joined Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and was given the name "Quiet Storm", and kept those relationships strong until his last day. He worked as a technical service consultant for Ardex, a job he both enjoyed and was excellent at. He was ambitious, hardworking and successful, as well as kind, compassionate, and generous. Rodney was extremely athletic all his life, excelling in track and field in his younger years. He also enjoyed a big plate full of steamed crabs, especially while watching a Dallas Cowboys game. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Rodney is survived by 2 siblings: Jazzmen Newman and Desmond Myers (wife Kirsten), and special cousin/brother Duquan L. Talton; grandparents John Johnson and Joann Washington; and beloved aunts and uncles: Cherice Johnson, Tonya Carmichael, Darrell Johnson, Douglas Johnson, Tina Jackson (Ralph), Beverly Rudolph (Roger), Leroy Johnson, Chris Johnson (Bonnie), all of Lancaster. He was predeceased by maternal grand and great-grandparents, Florine Talton, Alice Myers (husband John), and Mary Johnson.
The family will receive guests for a viewing on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 5-7 PM at Charles F. Snyder, III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584, and again on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 1-1:30 PM at the funeral home. A Homegoing Service will be held at 2 PM, with the Omega Ceremony to be held from 1:30-2 PM. Interment will follow at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. Please send flowers to the funeral home.
