Obituary

Robert "Bob" V. Baldori, 77, of Lancaster, passed away at home following a lengthy illness, during which time he never complained. He was born in Lancaster, PA and was the son of the late Annunzio J. and Victoria (Lombardo) Baldori. Bob is survived by his wife Marianne (Geraci) Baldori to who he was married for 35 years. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army for three and a half years. He was a 1957 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School where in 1956 he was a member of the undefeated Lancaster Catholic High School football team, where he played as running back. Bob was employed by UGI Utilities for 49 years and retired in 2002 as a supervisor. He was always a proud and dedicated employee. He worked part-time for Way Delivery Services from 2007 to 2015 where he earned employee of the month. He also worked at the Manheim Auto Auction for a brief period of time. Bob loved snowmobiling and fishing, traveling to Maine, and Canada over many years to fulfill those two favorite passions. He owned his own hunting camp "Calabrase City" in Potter County for 35 years. Bob would make many trips to the cabin where he spent quality time with his lifetime friend, Ron Huhn. He was an avid fisherman traveling all over with his brother in-law "Pink," John "Mick" Miller, Jake Rudy, Carl Fruchtl, and his favorite cook in the world, Tom Hodson. He acquired quite a taste for ice fishing from Pink. He was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan. Bob enjoyed playing Bocce for many years with the Lancaster Bocce league. He was very proud of his favorite team in which he played with his cousins, "The Gasperina Raiders," He was always known as the "closer." He also played in many tournaments with his wife, Marianne, at the Hershey Italian Lodge. In addition to his loving wife, Marianne, Bob is survived by his three daughters; Lisa Gervasi (Richard) of Philadelphia, Donna Basil of Maine, and Toni Cronin (Michael) of Lancaster, One step-son, Jacob Atwood Caldwell IV., six grandchildren, three sisters; Barbara (Bob Delbianco), Donna King, and Angela Ahnert (Paul), also a brother in-law, Harry "Pinky" Geraci, his best friend and lifetime fishing partner. Bob adored and was devoted to his many cousins. Bob was preceded in death by one brother in-law, Joe King. A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Bob will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11AM at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. A visitation will be held for family and friends from 10-11AM at the funeral home. In keeping with Bob's wishes, cremation has occurred and his cremated remains will be distributed at the "Flats" in Maryland. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Bob may be made to Davita Dialysis for the patient emergency fund, 1650 Manheim Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601.
