Robert F. Souders, 79, of Pequea, passed away at Lancaster Regional Medical Center on Monday, May 30, 2016. He was born in Lancaster to the late Chester and Frieda (Stoe) Souders. Bob was the loving husband of Dolores J. (Darrenkamp) Souders with whom he would have been married to 59 years on June 8th.

A graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, Bob earned his bachelor's degree from F. & M. College and his master's degree in education from Temple University. Bob taught economics, social studies and finally driver's education at Conestoga Valley High School.

He loved all sports, playing football, basketball and track in high school and college, and playing golf throughout his life. Bob was inducted into the L.C.H.S. Hall of Fame. At C.V. he was the school's first basketball coach and he also coached golf. Bob also umpired high school baseball.

Bob was a very energetic, caring, loving and family oriented man. He enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren, especially opening day of trout season. Fishing in Canada was a favorite adventure. He was an avid reader and he enjoyed breakfast every day at George's Restaurant at Kendig Square by himself or when meeting a friend for breakfast.

Surviving Bob in addition to his wife Dolores, are their three children, Brenda J, wife of Douglas Bair of Lancaster, James R. Souders, husband of Connie (Brennan) of Millersville and Stephanie A., wife of Tommy Wagner of Columbia; 5 grandchildren, Nathan Bair, Andrew, Ian and Jenna Dilley and Chloe Wagner; and his brother Gerald Souders, husband of Sybil of Dallas, TX. Bob was preceded in death by 12 siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11AM, Friday, June 3, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Allan F. Wolfe as Celebrant. Bob's family will greet friends from 9:30 to 11 AM at the church on Friday. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
