IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert M.
Rineer, Sr.
September 10, 2015
On Thursday, September 10, 2015, our beloved Robert M. Rineer, Sr., 80, walked into the arms of his beautiful wife, joining her in their journey into the "Amazing Grace" of Heaven. Robert died of natural causes. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Dorothy E. (Dommel) Rineer. Robert was the husband and soulmate of the late MaryLou (Flosser) Rineer who passed away in 2005 shortly before their 50th wedding anniversary. One of Robert's first jobs was at Bausch & Lomb eye care, which he enjoyed very much. In 1952, Robert entered the US Navy, during the Korean War, and served on board the USS Albany, CA 123, and was stationed in Norfolk, VA, serving until 1956. He then began his career in quality control at NTN/BCA (Federal Mogul Corp.) and then moved into a manufacturing supervisory position until his retirement after 38 years of service. Robert worked at both the Lititz and Lancaster plants and was well-liked and looked up to as a valued supervisor. Robert was an avid Phillies fan and loved watching the games, win or lose. In his younger years, he bowled in a league at Leisure Lanes for many years. He also loved to play golf and fish. Robert and wife MaryLou took many trips to their special place, Cape May, NJ, which they treasured very much. Robert is survived by three sons: Robert M. Jr. (Lisa), Reading; Dennis P. (Candice), Lancaster, and Adam J. (Alex), Houston, TX; a daughter, Susan L. Smith (Russell), Lancaster; 11 grandchildren; many precious great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl L. (June), Willow Street; and a sister, Mary Ellen Rineer. Robert was preceded in death by his son, Michael D. in 2001 and 2 brothers, Jack and Ronald Rineer. Family and friends will be received from 6-8 PM, Monday, September 14, 2015 at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, September 15, 2015. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
